Legacy Tour

Hi imaginary readers! Regardless of the time consumed posting all these stuff, I thank you for being avid readers of this blog.

------------------------

I'm back! I'm actually very glad to be back. My trip in DC, although very fun, informative, and inspiring exhausted my energies physically and intellectually. However, this entry is not an update on that, but rather, about an event that happened prior to the trip. Although, I cannot contain my excitement to write about the trip, I will hold my piece. I found out that I tend to blab in my writing when talking about a very recent event. Also, I still have to collect pictures from Brenton, Bruce, and Dr. Logan. Of course, I wouldn't want you to miss out on those.

That said, here's a peek of my previous Sabbath afternoon at Battlecreek:

Exhibit 1:

a. This is where the oppressed black people of those times used to travel to hide from authorities. The following photos were actual posters for ransom of sorts.

c. A vintage stove

Exhibit 2:

The one-room school house, which reminds me of Little House On The Prairie.

Exhibit 3:

The old, white church... (hah, wish I could say more)

Exhibit 4:

The log cabin where the most honest man in town lived. If I remember correctly, Joseph Bates visited this man's house. He and his wife then became the first Seventh-Day Adventists in that little town of Battlecreek.

Exhibit 5:

a. The Whites' House (interestingly, I went to another White House in Washington DC. Uh, pardon the pun. I have been in the company of very 'pun'y people the last six days). Anyway, this is the house where Ellen wrote the first edition of the Great Controversy, known as Spiritual Gifts.

b. The Whites' kitchen, pantry, sink, and dining table.

c. The room the Whites use for family worships

d. The boys' bed and toys

e. James White's separate room to give him extra time to sleep and rest, especially when Ellen writes in the wee hours of the night.

f. Ellen's room

g. The Whites' garage

Exhibit 6

Town Hall

So anyway, if you do have the time to drop by at Michigan, don't miss this wonderful opportunity to visit and be enlightened with the humble beginnings of the Seventh Day Adventist faith in Battlecreek.
